New from Montana

Post by RCharlton »

Hello everyone,

I’m new to the group and based in Helena, MT. I’m a big fan of the R8 platform. Last year, I had the opportunity to shoot my Rowland and Ward Nyala with a loaner R8 from a fellow member in Texas, who was hunting with me.

That experience inspired me to sell about 90% of my collection of other firearms and transition to Blaser rifles. I’m about to purchase a new R8 Professional or Jaeger with a 22mm Match barrel, so I can run a match barrel here in the U.S. without needing to swap stocks when I go to Africa for big game hunting—my OCD demands it!
Looking forward to meeting some of you when we’re out hunting with these superb rifles.

Best regards.

Welcome aboard mate.
Good decision to run a 22mm barrel channel from the start.
Life is too short to hunt with an ugly dog.

Welcome! Funny to hear someone else having a similar experience after shooting a Blaser. Over the past few years, I have sold off most of my other rifles too.
