New Aussie

Post by Sakobud »

G'day ,

Been reading on the forum for a while so thought to say g'day and learn from all you blokes.

I'm looking very hard at getting into an R8 pro success. Based in brisbane my biggest hurdle is finding a store that stock them as i would love to handle a pro success just to ensure the LOP will be correct and the gun will fit me properly and to tell myself why i need one in my life.

I am finding it hard to let go of few sako's to fund this purchase but i am sure i will get more comfortable once i find a R8 pro success to play with.

If any blokes are based in brisbane and would allow me to have a play with their R8 pro success i would be much appreciated.

Cheers and Happy Australia Day

Welcome aboard Sakobud, I have a pro success that you are welcome to handle, I can even bring to Belmont range one day if that’s any assistance. The problem is it is left handed and you really need to get your hands on a right hand model, if you’re right handed.

Happy Australia Day mate.

This is a typical problem for Blaser in Australia, you can’t sell unless people can get their Hands on them in most instances.

If it were me I would be writing to OSA and Blaser and asking them for a solution on who stocks them in Brisbane.
I understand all models cannot be stocked but a standard pro and pro success should at least be the very minimum.

Welcome.

LOP wise blasers are very long. The synthetic stocks are available to order from Blaser with various LOPs. It may be worth investigating this before you commit. Special order may add a bit of time but would be worth it to get it right

Cheers mate,

Appreciated Allan. I can shoot both but all my rifles are right handed. If only our gun stores in brisbane would actually stock one or two models so people can have a play with them would be much easier.

If all else fails will go to Mialls to test it out.

That was my initial thought if they stocked the pro or the pro success it would be sufficient so people could atleast see/feel before they commit .

Will be in touch with OSA to find out what could be done in regards to this

The Blaser configurator was not loading for me for some weird reason but i finally go onto it today and i did see that the LOP of the pro success is plenty enough. At 370mm it is longet then the LOP of my sako bavarian which is at 355.

Since it is a 370mm i will have to do a special order with an LOP of 355mm

I have always had rifles with the hogsback stock so hoping the pro success will suit me

P.S Don't waste your time at Mialls mate, just be thankful they no longer hold the agency. If you get stuck send me a PM, I might be able to help you out.

Will do mate appreciated.

Have emailed OSA to see if there is any chance that a local gun shop could have the pro and pro success in stock for people to view as i am sure it will spark more interests among brisbane hunters and shooters.

Thanks to all for a warm welcome and looking forward to expanding my knowledge. Have already learned that you are not considered a blaser user if you do not own a 9.3x62 :D
