Mr Stokes,
Thanks for the note sir. I must say that I have already read extensively on this site. And you have such a wealth of experience and practical knowledge that I have already found very helpful.
With your experience with the R8, do you think there is any feeding issues or difference when using the 6.5x284 which is a rebated rim case versus the newer 6.5 PRC?

I think Blaser does and excellent job of setting up the magazine inserts, so I would doubt you could tell the difference in feeding smoothness. I know the 6.5-284 feeds extremely well and would see no reason the 6.5 PRC would not feed just as well but I have not personally tried it. My friend ThomaĹľ has one in 6.5 PRC so perhaps he can chime in.

Update on BlaserBado
Hello Gentelmen!
Back on line after some time absent. Moved from Tanzania, East Africa. Now settling in Alaska - preaching for the church up here.
Thankfully, my screen name (BlaserBado = loose translation of Swahili is "Blaser not yet") is no longer accurate (though I will just keep it)!
I now have an R8 professional with Green Stock - Left Handed - with a factory 6.5 PRC barrel.
Now, if anyone has pity on me - a sad fellow that finally has a Blaser - but has no brass or loaded ammo. Neither 6.5 PRC brass nor ammo to be found!
Thanks again to all the seasoned BlaserBuds that have been such a source of great recommendations and information.

That's a damn shame, nothing worse then getting a new gun and not being able to get the ammunition for it.
Is their none available online?
If not I'm sure someone here can help you out.

Welcome to Blasebuds, unfortunately most on line companies won’t ship to Alaska. Where in Alaska are you?

Welcome friend…This is definitely the forum to join for good information but bad if your trying to save money!!!
I started with 0 Blaser 60 days ago and now own three.
The concept was difficult to understand but when I did it turned me to 100% Blaser. Researching a shot gun now to complete the collection……and two barrels will be just the start. Glad to hear of your calling as a missionary, my son is a pastor. Love God, Love People….tell others.
Glad your here!!

Thanks guys!
Really sad to finally have an R8 and now no loaded ammo or brass available. I have bullets and powder. I was able to buy Hornady 6.5 PRC dies. However, I simply cannot find brass anywhere! I would appreciate any report if someone hears of some coming available. It surely will go faster than an SR-71.
Thanks.
