Started the new reloading room/man cave

Post by SPEEDY »

I want to build a big shed in the backyard but I had nowhere to put my stuff while it's getting built so I decided to build a temporary man cave to get me by for a couple of years till I can get it planned, approved and built.
So far I managed to knock up a wooden deck to use as a base, sitting on some bricks as I can't build a permanent structure there. It's levked and rock solid, so I'm reasonably happy with it.
I've got a 3mx2.8mx2.3m high shed to put together on Wednesday when the wife's off work as it's a lot easier to have someone to hold a wall up and fetch things for you.

Then I should start moving things in this weekend.

The new shed in the yard is going to take some planning as it's going to have a workshop, storage room and a guest bedroom all joined together. But this should definitely get my by until that's built.

Every man should have a man cave I reckon. :handgestures-thumbup:
Measure it, when it’s on the deck

Looks like the weather should be good enough that we can get it up tomorrow, then it's move the benches and still ect in. Then put an outdoor power point on near it and hook it up to power.

Got most of it up yesterday, just finished putting the doors on today with the wife's help. (so I'm going to have to adjust them again latter  )

But it's ready to start moving the benches ect into this weekend.

That went up well. It's going to get pretty warm though, isn't it?

I'm actually going to put insulation it, then wire up a couple of power points and a light.
I will have a heater and an evaporative cooler for it too, so it should be alright summer or winter.

I insulated my man cave and from running the fridge it keeps it at a nice temp over winter with out the heater on. In summer with the aircon going its the coolest place in the house. :handgestures-thumbup:

I'm hoping I can keep mash barrels fermenting all year long.

Ah, so it's actually a brew shed, not a reloading room. Different kind of reloading I guess.....
