K95 wasn't closing.
I was getting ready for a trip away and as per usual I ran all my loads through the gun to make sure they were good as the hornet can bulge the neck a bit if you don't seat a bullet exactly right.
I was about half way through when I got about 20 rounds in a row that the gun would not close on, then I tried to close on an empty chamber and it would not close.
I got out my 30-06 barrel and tried it and it closed fine so I got a little worried.
After about 30min of closely eximing it I noticed that the extractor wasn't quite flush, not by much but just a tiny bit, I hosed it out with some carby cleaner and some oil, it turns out a couple of loose grains of powder got behind it.
It's back to normal now but I thought I would bring it up just in case anyone else gets, that problem in the field or similar, it's something to keep an eye out for before you really start to panic.

I am glad it was an easy fix speedy, and good on you for sharing.

Re: K95 wasn't closing.
I was in a bit of a panic at 1st, I just couldn't figure out what was wrong.
I figured it might be good information to know in case someone else has this problem down the track.

Re: K95 wasn't closing.
When I saw my moose and and loaded the rifle it would not close because there was this tiny piece of leaf in the barrel recess that the tilting block locks into. Total momentary panic! The tolerances are very close and that makes them accurate but also can cause problems hunting you just need to be mindful.

There's nothing worse then when your about to go hunting or need to take a shot and the rifle won't work for some reason.
It's good to know it's a simple problem and easily sorted out, but anything this precisely built is always going to be slightly temperamental if anything is off.

I’ve never had an issue (yet, knock on wood), but it’s good to know some of the issues that could arise. Thanks for the heads up!

Tolerances are exceptionally tight lending to their accuracy which causes extreme attention to detail on our part.
I've had the grains of powder issue before too!

Re: K95 wasn't closing.
When hunting with a K95 always check your ammo before leaving home and if it closes then when you are out hunting and your rifle won’t close it is one of two things:
1 dirt or debris between extractor and barrel
2. Dirt or debris in barrel recess that the tilting block engages.
I learned this again on my muskox hunt. A little moisture got into the recess when I took it out of the case and instantly froze. Used the tip of a bullet to knock it out and all was good. In my experience it is usually #2 vs. #1 but both cause panic in the moment.
