Tough Gun Laws May Cost Jobs

A place to discuss regulations, or the over regulation in most case, that our members have to deal with in their respective countries. Hopefully discussion will lead to more rules based on common sense, rather than fears by the government.

Sort of a sign of the times. I haven't sold a gun through my FFL in over a year with the economy here. I think they are paying bills and buying groceries instead. :(

Is that really the issue. I've been pretty unimpressed with the remingtons I've seen the shop. The quality has gone down along with the price. Almost to the point it was a race to the bottom. Tikka is probably Australia's most popular brand and its not hard to see why. Great quality, great accuracy and reasonable pricing along with Beretta's unbelievable service.

Could be a bit of it, but junk sells well still in the US, and if you can not make a livin selling junk, you got other problems.

The Walton family nods in agreement as they bank their mega millions. And millions of Chinese families send their thanks to the American buyers.

Doubt if you'll find many who'll disagree with your assessment of Remington. I can only assume that it's the result of a fund owning them instead of being owned by gun people. It's all about the dollar with these guys. Now I will add that if a fund is managed by gun people there is a much better chance of quality being a priority.

Tikka should really be more popular here considering the quality product you get for a very reasonable price. Their 3 shot and 5 shot warranty is also impressive and they will stand behind it. I've actually had much better accuracy results from Tikkas than from the higher priced Sako rifles.

5 shot warranty is impressive. I was told by the guy that is the General Manager here they have only replaced a handful over the last 5 years that couldn't complete the 5 shots with factory ammo. Given they get a few a week that would add up to several hundred rifles that the customers deemed weren't accurate enough and were ready to had back to the importer that speaks volumes of product.

I always feel sad when the little people through no fault of their own lose their jobs due to bad management.
