He's one spunky little dog. Looks like he's listening pretty good. The one I had as a kid didn't listen for naught. He was always in trouble. But at least he was cute at getting in trouble...

During his life he go bit no less than 3 times by rattlesnakes, run over by a couple cars, and an assortment of other booboos. Finally in his old age a car finally got him. Even then he lived over 10 years.
The funniest escapade occurred one day while I was calling coyotes with a mouth call. He had to venture along into the pasture and a whitetail doe responded to the call. She saw him and it was hillarious. She chased him all over the place. He'd go under the fence and she'd go over it. Back and forth they went till she finally decided it wasn't worth the trouble. His little short legs were moving that day.

I did sort of cover him to where if she'd have gotten too close I'd have touched off a round but things played out without me having to interfere. It would have made a funny video that was for sure.
One of his favorite things was to go rabbit hunting. I'd take my 22 and we'd head for the pasture. He'd run far enough ahead to make sure that I didn't get any easy shots on a cottontail. He's see them and the chase would be on. I'd get so mad at him and he'd blow me off and do what he wanted anyway. Just like a spoiled kid. Of course back then I knew nothing of 'training' a dog so he was pretty much free to do what he wanted.
Seeing your little dog in action is providing more incentive that once our old dogs pass on that we'll opt for a Dachshound. Big enough to be a dog, small enough to be easy to take care of. Plus if we raise him with our cats they should get along just fine. Cats are cool but truly useless for anything other then eating and leaving a mess... Corjak's little one is a handfull too - provided of course that you can actually CATCH her! Like trying to catch greased lightning...
