That is quite accurate on the summation of things here, only perhaps the fire issue - we burn and don't step in until it is totally out of control. we lose homes and historic structures. True natural fire can and does enhance future growth. But perhaps not the entire NW region at once. The one thing the liberal has lost in their "let everything be natural" is that we (humans) are here to stay. So, reasonable management of all species should be our objective. They (the libs) think that if mankind was not present at all, then everything would be fine in the wild kingdom ecosystem. I say they should be the first to set the example and take a long, permanent nap in the dirt they say they love so much.D99 wrote:I think Wyoming is plagued by 3 issues;
1. Trailer park folks from the Eastern and Southern states who move there to make a buck in the oil field or mines and do not respect game laws. The best part about them is they are usually only there for a few years. They poach, and poach, and poach! Mostly because of a culture of acceptance of poaching where they come from.
2. Lefty assholes that try to save Wyoming;
by introducing wolves
saving the buffalo of Yellowstone from hunters and Montana cattle ranchers
not allowing forest fires to burn
letting the Indian Cooperations run the world into the ground
And lastly trying to convince the world that the prairie dog and sage grouse are on the verge of extinction. Prairie dogs and sage grouse should be hunted, just leave some for seed when you go out. Have a quota or something, quit making scene of it.
These folks usually don't live in Wyoming, and when they move here the wind kills them off too.
3. Coloradans and Utes that we share our border with. We love the tourst and hate them, because we have Yellowstone, and it is so much farther to Glacier in Montana we get tourist from Utah and Colorado like the plague. They have a lot of pull as a financial cash cow, and neighbor. And they buy the majority of the non-resident licenses.
If you drive up from Salt Lake and step out into the huge BLM tract in SW Wyoming to shoot prairie dogs, just kill 20 or 30 and go home. If more people did that, instead of staying for 3 days and laying waste to 300 pature poodles they wouldn't get such a bad rap.
Heck set out a steel gong targets from 500 to 1000 yards and work on that. There is plenty of room for that.
