I'd definitely use a 500gn or similar in one, if you going to shoot a 350gn pill then you might as well get a small round.
Just my worthless 2c but a big case deserves a big pill.
I'm soft and I don't care.

It's more considered as a PH caliber but with a bit of training that's a great caliber for a hunter too. The first time I hunted in that area, but with an other PH, he had the same rifle in the same caliber. He allowed me to shoot with it on target the first day and I fell in love of it and the next year I bought mine.
Yes, the Zeiss V8 is nice but not really my favourite low power scope. My right eye prefers the Swarovski Z6i 1-6x24 or the Leica magnus 1-6.3x24 but that's personnal.

I think one day I'll try to reload 550 gr and 600 gr bullets ;)

That's definitely showing what it's capable of

I think this soft old fat fuzzy bunny will let you have them all to yourself.

Sorry for my late reply
This .458 lott is great rifle and a real pleasure to shoot. I bought a Zeiss V8 1.1-8x30 for big game hunting and since my last message I have loaded 500 gr bullets with success.
First I tried Hornady Interlock bullets and had really quickly a nice result with the Relaod Swiss 52 powder. After, I tried Degol bullets (Starkmantel and FMJ) of the same weight also with a great result.

Hornady cases
Federal 215 GM primers, I had several issues with Winchester primers :(
83 gr of Reload Swiss 52 powder.
COAL : 3.60"
Crimping with the LFC

Velocities : 705 m/s (2313 f/s), 698 m/s (2290 f/s), 697 m/s (2286 f/s).
Kevin. Did you use 83 gr of RS52 on the Interlock as well? I have bought RS52 to my 500 gr because it seems like a good powder to that weight. Loaded 4, 80,81,82 and 83 gr. Hope the results are near 2300fps/700 m/s.

Yes I did ! ;)
The Interlock is shorter and has a thinner jacket than Degol bullets so I even pushed up to 84 gr of Reload Swiss 52 but approach this step carrefully. ;) I was at 700 m/s.

Thanks, I didn’t get a notice so i missed this. I went up to 85 gr RS52 and got 2300 fps. I want to get use Barnes 350 for Moose but its out of stock everywhere. I have got my hands on TSX 300 and going to get a load for that. It’s hard though to find load data. Norma 200 or Vithavuori 130 is the powders that i think of. Norma have been hard to get during whole this year. Tried both in GRT and 130 seems that I can get little higher speed. However, the values isn’t to be trusted due to straight wall cases. I see that you have used Quick Load for load development though.
