300WM brass

Post by Vaughan »

Looking for 300wm brass in Australia. Options we have found seem to be limited to Winchester and Federal. You would think Winchester should make good brass for something called a 300wm but my experience with Winchester brass has been subpar. Anyone know who makes Federal or who might distribute Norma brass in Oz?

I'm pretty sure Federal makes their own brass, I've used it quite a lot. I don't like Federal as well as Lapua, but it does produce just as accurate loads as Lapua does. Currently, I load Federal and ADG brass for my 300 Win Mag and the ADG is superb and rugged brass, superior to Lapua, RWS or Norma in my experience so far but for accuracy the Federal is just as good, the case life is just shorter. I do have to use different neck bushings for Federal vs ADG. But you probably will have a hard time finding it in OZ.

Rebel have been reliable for me with Norma. Not always in stock, but their email alert system works well.

Cheers guys! Federal will do the job since it seems fairly easy for my brother to pick up.

Norma has been the go to since Lapua stopped production of the case for the civilian market

Lapua is adding 300WM cases to their offerings in 2021! I wonder how long it would take before we see it here, across the ocean.

Woo hoo !!! And 284 Win. That one will make a few people happy. Good reason to build a 284. :handgestures-thumbup: Except that I sold my 7mm "project" barrel :(
