Monster PB Yellow Belly
I went out this arvo to flick a few lures for the start of cod season, got two little 35cm ones early on but then I had to go pick up a new boat trailer.
After I packed up the gear I decided to have a few last cast, 1st cast as the lure came near the bank I got hit by what felt like a train.
5min latter on the little 6lb outfit I pulled in what I thought was a cod but turned out to be the biggest Yellow Belly if landed yet.

These wet years have clearly done no harm to your inland fishing. That's a beauty

It's gone insane atm, which is pretty good as it's way too hot to harvest any deer so it's putting a lot of meat on the table until things cool down enough to switch back to deer.

That’s a cracker, enjoy eating him.
Life is too short to hunt with an ugly dog.

Now that’s a monster,
Well done speedy.
I recon the yellow belly is the best tasting fresh water fish we have down south.

That's trout in my book, but they have gone to deeper colder water now and the yellow belly and cod are running.

Re: Monster PB Yellow Belly
OK so that didn't last long, 1st I beat it with a damn nice 9.7lb model.
Then 40min later I beat it again with a 11.1lb monster.
Then as I was packing up thinking I couldn't do any better I saw some big ones swim past, quickly cast up the bank and hooked into this giant 66cm 12.7lb absolute monster.

Here's the close up of the other two, the 1st one I got was a cracker, the 2nd one but, damn.
It wasn't that long, but for once I'm not the fattest thing in the photo.

Yes, clearly they're on good paddock... Bloody good to see, you should have fish spawning like mad everywhere (I've lost track of when that should be
)

Re: Monster PB Yellow Belly
OK I don't seem to be able to set a PB for very long before I smash it, but this beast is definitely, definitely going to take some beating.
67cm, 14lb Yellow Belly, and absolute donkey of a fish.
But since it was released I'm hoping I can catch it again at 15lb or even 16lb.
