Ended up turning down the position this morning.

Family asked if we'd stay another few years, my father turns 81 this year. With a military career I haven't spent much time with family.

Besides that the German Goverment does not have a handle on Covid and they are acting like everyone has the plague is deadly. Namely kids. My kids don't need to be treated that way. Were told on Friday the kids couldn't go anywhere but their own house/yard and maybe school on base for the foreseable future.

Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you. On the bright side, I guess you get to buy some new guns.

I am sure that most would agree that Baden Wurtenburg and Bayern are the best states (after all they share the Alps with Austria, Switzerland and France.

I am hoping to be there by the end of July if I get the job.

Yes, it’s certainly a beautiful part of the world.

Good choice not to come - You are absolutely right what You said about the German government and treating this children. It is a criminal act against the own people what happens here at the moment. If I could, I would grab a plane to a better place... But I can not that easy...

Best regards from Hessen (near Darmstadt)

This, too, shall pass, Klaus, have a bit of faith. Not much wrong with a race of people that like to hunt, like to drink beer and make fabulous bread and cakes.. :handgestures-thumbup: :D

German bread, beer, candy, and schnitzel and more importantly my own inability to say no gave me another 40 pounds. I am still fighting off and we have been back 2 years. I got off the airplane in Frankfurt at 220 pounds and stepped on the airplane 3 years later at 280.

I started eating Carnivore and then Keto 2 months ago and I am down to 240.

I am not sure what I will eat if we move back to Germany, at least you can get really good sausages which are mostly carbohydrate free. The bread I will miss.

Something that was common in our house growing up in Wyoming and Montana was gooseberry jam. This also exist in Northern Europe and is amazing.

Yes!

One of my favorite keto meals in Europe was the ka-bob/schwarma/gyro stands. I just ordered meat and salad (and cried because the fries were usually amazing). Taziki, onions, tomatoes, schwarma meat and hot sauce. Hell of a meal.
