Reminds me of my old mate.

Post by deerhunter338mag »

We all have a hunting buddy or family member like Uncle Larry. I have a dear old mate that I always tell him as he love watching Randy Newberg videos, that he reminds me of uncle Larry. Just wondering how many of us have an uncle Larry in their life. And no it's not Joe338st but its very close...

That was a good effort by uncle Larry. Poor bloke has a lot of medical issues going on and has managed to take a fantastic elk in less than ideal conditions. I think I know who your uncle Larry is....

Yea, I think most of us know an uncle Larry. My hunting buddy once shot the wrong Coues buck and decided it was my fault for not better describing the place the one I wanted him to shoot was bedded. The one he shot was still a very respectable 95” buck but then we had to watch the Boone and Crockett buck walk over and look at the downed buck and then walk away.

That's a contradiction in terms.

On my first ever red deer hunt ,,,there were three of us concealed behind a small bush with about 6 red deer on the other side. Furthermost was about 15 yards. My mate Gordon, who had never even seen a deer before was to shoot .....he was told to shoot the spiker. "okay" he said and then promptly shot the nearest hind.

As deer bounced all about ...the other mate and I looked at him and asked "what the fornicate ?"  He looked puzzled and then said "whats a spiker?" :shifty: :shifty: :shifty:

He was using a Steyr SSG in 308 with match grade ammo, and all rigged for long distance shooting. His deer was shot at about 3 meters.

Gordo was never much of a hunter.
