Recommend ammunition for .308 R8
Hi all,
Sorry it’s not reloading but figured best to ask in this thread..
Looking to pick up my R8 .308 by Thursday for a weekend zero before a hunt the following weekend
Any recommendations on some .308 for Fallow deer to give a try and see how the groups go.
Looking for advice to whittle down the option to buy a few boxes before I go to zero.

OSA 165 grain factory ammunition tack drives and performs well on game.

The OSA is good stuff, better when it was cheap and nobody wanted it, but once people realised how good it was they jacked up the price.
I'm soft and I don't care.

Go the Outback, its great stuff. Its Adi powder and brass so there easy to load yourself if you want too, if it shoots in your rifle. I use their load data in my 243 and I bought a bucket of 900 rounds in their 223 ammo.

If you go the Outback, maybe best to avoid the HP match offering and go for the 165 soft point.

Is the OSA outback ammunition the same as ADI ammunition?
And what is Buffalo River?

My understanding is that the ammo has been released by Australian Munitions, which is part of the Thales Australia group, with factories in Mulwala, NSW and Benalla, Victoria. So it's made at ADI just a different badge. I'm sure Theo might know a bit more.

^^^^ What he said, same ammo, just different branding. Must have something to do with marketing the Outback brand. Everybody is used to OSA Buffalo river branding, should of just left it that way. But it is the same stuff.deerhunter338mag wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 8:52 pmMy understanding is that the ammo has been released by Australian Munitions, which is part of the Thales Australia group, with factories in Mulwala, NSW and Benalla, Victoria. Nothing wrong with it, and if you find a load that works its easy to copy if you want to reload your own.
