Scope covers for scopes & mount in transit?
Planning to take rifle to South Africa this year and was advised to not put scopes in the pelican with the rifle but to keep them in my carry on. Any recommendations on good bags/covers to use to protect them in my carry one and preferably not have the Blaser bases scratch or tear anything in the bag?

I have had good luck with covers made by Scopecoat, which I got from Midway USA.

Concur, Scopecoat makes a good padded neoprene product, as do most of the riflescope manufacturers (name brands tend to be a little more expensive).
I have also used an old thick hunting sock! . . . or two if not thick enough.
Regards,

I e got about 4 of the scope coats, and Swarovski and I like the scope coats the best.
Maybe put them in a little padded case too like a pelican or similar.

I'm soft and I don't care.

I would not place a scope in my carry on luggage. I know it’s not a firearm part and it’s as dangerous as a stone….but having worked at a major airport for many years I know that a rifle scope in cabin luggage is just asking for problems.hsM9D wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 8:22 pm Planning to take rifle to South Africa this year and was advised to not put scopes in the pelican with the rifle but to keep them in my carry on. Leave it in the rifle case. It will be fine.

Scopes have been specifically defined by the various powers that be as NOT being a firearm part, BUT that does you no good when an ill informed security clown says it is.
Avoid the aggravation.
