Stupid question but how did Bass Pro force a merger. I always saw them as the poorer cousin?

Basically in my opinion, Cabelas was publically traded. They built too many stores, over extended themselves, then the economy declined. Bass pro is privately owned, when economy started to decline, they slowed construction of new stores two years before Cabelas did. Sucked it in in other areas as well. They went into survival mode a lot quicker than Cabelas. Somebody had to buy them, some sort of law thingy I read about a couple years ago. Bass Pro was the only company willing to pony up.

I may be incorrect, but the shareholders refused the amount per share they offered. Like 30.00 to 40.00 a share.

Fair enough. The bass pro deal is at the high end of the bid. I wonder if the product lines are going to be trimmed?

Thats going to be one huge power house of firearms sales, all they need to do now is buy Numrich to complete the collection.
Then once Trump fixes the firearms export problem then they should really start pushing ahead.
I'm soft and I don't care.
